Unidentified miscreants set Talcher MLA Braja Kishore Pradhan’s car on fire in his camp office at Nandira village under the Bikrampur police station in Talcher late on Saturday night.
The MLA was reportedly present in the camp office when the incident occurred. Besides the MLA’s car, an ambulance parked near the spot was also torched.
According to reports, the arsonists barged into the camp office of the MLA and set afire his car parked in the garage at around 2 am. It was suspected that the incident could be the fallout of some political or business rivalry.
Following the incident, some staffs of the MLA rescued him from the camp office as the miscreants had locked the house’s main gate from outside.
The Bikrampur police have started an investigation into the incident.
Earlier in August, unidentified miscreants had also set some vehicles parked in the premises of Pradhan’s residential quarter at MLA Colony in Bhubaneswar. Two cars, two bikes and a bicycle were gutted in the incident.
