A seminar on ‘Cybercrime and security measures’ was organised at Holy Cross Senior Secondary School, Kolar Road Bhopal on Monday.
City’s known cyber security professional, Akshay Bajpai ,was invited as a guest speaker for the seminar. He made the audience including teaching, non-teaching staff and the students, aware of various cybercrime and security measures which are useful and necessary for present scenario of digital age.
He also told about recent modes of cybercrimes in the field of financial frauds, matrimonial frauds, job frauds, lottery scams and fake web applications. On talking about Phishing attacks, he said that Phishing is a method of pulling out confidential information from the bank or financial institutional account holders by deceptive means, which can be performed in online banking system and social networking sites for gaining ID and passwords.
He also discussed different cyber laws and recent trends of cyber security. In this session, students along with their faculty members showed their presence in the seminar. School Principal Sr Usha Antony, faculty member Khushboo Basedia also showed their interest in organising this interactive session for students and faculty members.
