Regional Museum of Natural History, Bhopal holds Nature Painting Workshop

Regional Museum of Natural History, Bhopal organised a Nature Painting Workshop on Saturday under World Wetlands Day Programme. As many as 66 underprivileged children from Shyam Nagar, Indira Nagar, Sai Baba Nagar and Lal Ghati; participated in this workshop through Parvarish-The Museum School.

In the beginning of workshop, Manik Lal Gupta, Scientist-B of the museum informed the participants and teachers that life cannot exist on earth without water and water bodies i.e. wetlands are playing good role to control the climate change by absorption of atmospheric Carbon di Oxide while wetlands may disappear due the climate change.

Hence, we have to safeguard the wetlands to control the climate change and to fulfill our and future generation’s need.

Participants learnt to create a Nature Paintings which included Rivers, Lakes, Crocodile, Gavial, Tortoise, Turtles, Birds, and Fishes etc under the guidance of Navin Kumar, Artist of the museum.

Workshop concluded with an appeal made by Manoj Kumar Sharma, Scientist-B and In charge of the museum that all the participants and teachers can become a part of global campaign to conserve the wetlands.

Shibani Ghosh and teachers from Parvarish; Gautam Singh Yadav, Photographer; Shivaji Rao, Preparatory Assistant; Anil K Sonparote, Projectionist of the museum were present during the workshop.
