A four-week-long Girls’ Empowerment Mission (GEM) programme of Talcher Thermal Power Station (TTPS), which had been inaugurated on May 20, concluded on June 16 with a colourful presentation by all participants from different schools and its periphery.
The programme started with lighting of lamp by Chief General Manager of unit BiswarupBasu. The cultural event was managed by children.
The GEMis a flagship CSR programme of NTPC. Children in the age group of 10 to 12 years from class 6th of peripheral villages participated in the GEM workshop at Talcher Thermal which was implemented by Barefoot College, Tilonia, Rajasthan.
Among others, children learned yoga, martial art,health andhygiene, gender related issues, leadership quality, personality development along with subject studies on English, math, art and culture.
