Now, robots will take orders and serve food replacing the waiters at a ‘smart’ restaurant here.
Two robots are in service of customers at the ‘Robo Chef’ restaurant that opened at Infocity DLF Tower. It is claimed to be the first restaurant in eastern India where two indigenously developed robots, ‘Champa’ and ‘Chameli’ are engaged.
One is amused as Champa and Chameli ask you in Odia ‘Apana Mane Khusi Ta’ (Are you happy?) after serving the food.“Being inspired by the services by robots in restaurants during my visit to the US, I wanted that kind of service here in Bhubaneswar where robots can be used in restaurants,” said Robo Chef owner Jeet Basha.“The robot restaurants in India are all imported from China. But we are completely made in India restaurant. The robots of the restaurant are developed at a Jaipur-based startup,” he said.
