Discus throw player Ikram Ali makes record in Nat’l School Under-19 tourney

In the 65th National School Under-19 Championship the academy discus throw player Ikram Ali Khan made a new record by throwing 59.39 meters discus throw and won the gold medal.

The championship was held at Sangrur, Punjab. It is to be noted that the old record was 56.87 meters. In the under-19 discus throw women's event, academy player Shalini Chaudhary won a bronze medal by throwing 41.38 meters discus throw. It is notable that this is Shalini's first nationally won medal.

Director Sports and Youth Welfare SL Thoussen congratulated medal winners Ikram Ali and Shalini Chaudhary.

Meanwhile, players of Madhya Pradesh State Women's Hockey Academy held NCC in the 26th Charanjeet Rai Nehru Cup Women's Hockey Competition held in Delhi from December 1 to 12, 2019. Sonepat won the final match by defeating the team 1-0. The only goal in the match was scored by Academy player Sanskriti Swan in the 32nd minute from a penalty corner.

Jyoti Singh earned the Player of the Tournament title in the competition. The Academy team entered the final by defeating Sonepat Haryana team 4–0 in the semi-final. Director Sports and Youth Welfare SL Thoussen congratulated the winning players and coaches. Academy players were representing Kids Corner School in this competition.

It is noteworthy that the prize distribution of the competition was done by Olympian and Sports Minister of Haryana Sandeep Singh.
