Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Saturday stressed that the focus of his government being on development, possibilities for tourism would be explored in Sonebhadra district.
Addressing a gathering at a mass marriage programme in Sonebhadra on Saturday afternoon, Yogi said that the district sharing boundaries with four states has special blessings of nature.
“It has immense possibilities of tourism and the government will put all efforts to develop industry here which would generate job opportunities for the locals,”said Yogi.
The CM said that the state government was committed for the development of tribal areas. Pointing out tourist places of the district, Yogi said that ancient Fossil Park was a special attraction for foreign tourists.
“Besides, religious places like Amila Dham, Kudari Devi, Baba Machhendra Nath are famous tourist places,” he added.
As many as 1001 couples got hitched in mass marriage ceremony at Sonebhadra on Saturday. The CM handed over marriage certificates to seven couples, in addition to certificates of PM Awas Yojana. Yogi said that the social evil of dowry still prevailed in the society which caused family disputes and destruction of pious relations. He said that intellectuals should come forward in the fight against dowry and help in eradicating the malaise from the society.
Highlighting achievements of his government, Yogi said that the previous government made 63,000 houses for the poor in five years while the BJP government has constructed 1.85 lakh houses in the last one year. He said that around 20,000 poor families got their houses in Sonebhadra alone.
The CM further claimed that the standard of living of people had improved since the BJP came to power in the state last year.
“Since the BJP took over, there has been a consistent improvement in standard of living of the people,” he stressed.
Yogi also inaugurated nine development projects worth Rs 580 crores and and laid the foundation stones of 45 other schemes. The CM declared Babhani block as Open Defecation Free (ODF) and also changed the name of Robertsganj railway station (Sonebhadra) as Sonebhadra railway station.
