The melodious saga of the late thirties and forties of Hindi film music industry was relived by the Bhopalites in a musical event.
The musical rhythms of the legendry singers of Bollywood once again took the Bhopalites in the mood of old times. A musical event ‘Sur Yatra – Ek Bangla Bane Nyara’ was held at Ravindra Bhavan Auditorium on Friday, showcasing the life span and works of different legendary singers of B’town.
The event was organised by Ustad Alauddin Sangeet Evam Kala Academy, under the musical series ‘Sur Yatra’ whose first event was based on Madan Mohan and was featured on the completion of 100 years of Hindi Cinema in year 2013. The event began with the song ‘Ek Bangla Bane Nyara’ which was a hit track by Kl Saigal. ‘Ek Bangla Bane Nyara’ is one of the popular songs of its time. Sung by Kl Saigal it was the track of film President released in 1937. It was like a musical pleasure that was much enjoyed by the music lovers of the city.
The songs were presented by Dinesh Sharma and Prashant Vajpayee brilliantly as they were accompanied by a grand orchestra. It was like a sheer pleasure for the music lovers of the city who love the tracks of that time.
The black and white picturisation of these songs came in front of the audience as they took pleasure of listening to the songs with closed eyes. The calmness and beauty of the lyrics could be felt once again.
The singers also performed the tracks sung by legendary singers like Noorjahan, Shamshad Begum, Surendra, Meena Kapoor, Pankaj Mallik and Hemant Kumar as well.
