'Dayanand Saraswati teachings more relevant in present scenario'

Himachal Governor Acharya Devvrat on Sunday said that Swami Dayanand Saraswati has been the cornerstone to the edifice of the strong culturally unify India.

The teachings of Swami ji were more relevant in the present scenario, said the Governor during the birth anniversary celebration of Swami Dayanand Saraswati at Jawahar lal Nehru Stadium in New Delhi.

The celebration was organized by DAV College Management Committee, New Delhi in collaboration with Arya Pradeshik Pratinidhi Sabha.

Prime Minister Narender Modi was present on the first of its kind mega event- ‘Nayi Disha-Naya Sankalp’ as chief guest. Acharya Devvrat said that various policies and programmes based on socio-economic upliftment had been launched by the Prime Minister.

He urged the Arya Samaj Organisation to co-operate and actively participate in the implementation of these programmes and policies particularly yoga, organic farming, cleanliness programmes besides prohibition of drugs menace from the society for the building of strong and vibrant nation. 

He also appreciated the efforts of the DAV and Arya Samaj for dedicating yeoman services to the society.

The Governor said that it was the responsibility of every educational institute to produce the students who contribute in nation building and hoped that DAV and Arya Samaj would go a long way in fulfilling such aspiration.

He added that both the organisations were contributing a lot in education sector and also imparting value-based education to the students particularly introduced the concept of spiritual.
