Chief Minister Raghubar Das on Saturday asked heavy and small industries to focus on all round development of the State. He said that priority should be given to all the stakeholders while pursuing projects or else the State would witness unbalanced growth.
The CM addressed a meeting with the senior officials of Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and industrialists held at a city hotel. During the meeting several issues concerning industrialisation were discussed.
The CM asked the industrialists of Adityapur Industrial Area Development Authority (AIADA) to participate in Investors' Meet to be held in February next year. He said that the State is emerging new industrial hub and the local entrepreneurs must come in support.
Das added said that instead of looking after ways of only increasing production they should think on involving the population in the production. He noted that people of the region have not developed in proportion to the mineral resources extracted from there region.
“Our natural resources are reducing due to rampant use of the mines and industrial growth. However, we have failed to ensure progress of the local tribals and their participation in the production and this has led to social unrest,” Das noted.
The Chief Minister said that it’s time to correct the strategy and ensure balanced and all round growth of the State. He said that the Government is focusing on construction of roads and power production. He also went on to add that through public private partnership (PPP) the Government is constructing roads connecting the State capital from all connections.
“We want participation of private parties since the Government cannot go ahead alone for the rapid progress,” noted the legislator from Jamshedpur, East.
The participants also discussed issues like poor roads, lack of bridges, water and erratic power supply that need to be addressed. The entrepreneurs are hopeful that the Government would work for their betterment.
“Raghubar jee has a vision of industrialisation. We are hopeful that he will take steps to remove bottlenecks. There are several ancillary units and steps to be taken to motivate them,” said an official of Singhbhum Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Naresh Nagelia, a city based entrepreneur, said that the State government should work on a rehabilitation and resettlement (R&R) policy to help the industry acquire land smoothly. Besides, the Government should also process mining licences for raw materials such as iron ore and coal, key to steelmaking. He said that there are several projects lying in limbo because there are hitches land acquisition. It is not only a matter of investment but the proceeds of the same could have been utilized in transforming the underdeveloped Adityapur into developed zone besides, the government too, had earned handsome revenue.
The demand was also raised to lessen dependency on Tata Motors and steps to be taken for auto ancillaries.
It may be noted that the sprawling Adityapur Industrial Area houses 900 units- including 11 large-scale, 64 small scale and 166 tiny industries. A few important industries that has global presence are Usha Martin Group, RSB Group, Tata Steel Growth Shop(TGS) etc., too situated in this industrial belt, situated in Seraikela-Kharsawan. There are 20 industries, which export its products to the USA, Australia and other European countries.
