Friday, 28 August 2015 | Staff Reporter | Bhopal

Age is no bar when it comes to my passion for photography, says the veteran actress of Bollywood Waheeda Rehman.

A photography exhibition portraying the wildlife pictures by veteran actress Waheeda Rehman concluded here on Thursday at Samanvay Bhavan.

While in a candid talk with the media persons here on Thursday, Waheeda shared her love for photography and her passion for it. The actress who ruled the film industry in 1950’s says that she has a unique love for photography, especially wildlife photography.

In her photographs, she has captured the wildlife moments from various wildlife sanctuaries and jungle safaris. It was delightful pleasure for the art lovers to watch her photography. Waheeda says that she has been into photography for past 40 years and she enjoys it immensely. Her experience and her love for photography were clearly seen in her works.

“In the initial years when I began photography I had Rolly Flex camera but with the changing technology in still photography II also became advanced and now I have Olympus camera,” says Waheeda. Elaborating further, she said, “When I was young I couldn’t get much time for photography due to my busy filmy schedule. But now I do limited photography and even my son does it along with me.”

As she talked more about it, she said that after she visited Kenya she realised that it does not happen just with a hobby but photography needs time and perfection. “After my visit to Kenya I realised that photography is all about being artistic. So these days I am taking photography training from a renowned photographer Himanshu Sethi.”

Talking about Wildlife Photography, she said, “It was my hearty wish to do wildlife photography at Bandhavgarh Sanctuary and I was eagerly waiting for this time to shoot tigers there. I have done shooting there for four days and it was actually a great experience.”

As she is one of the recognized actresses of Bollywood she also kept her view point over the changing scenario of film industry. She said, “Movies are mirror to society and it would be wrong if I say that they do not showcase the scenarios of society now. With the changing time and society even movies are experiencing great changes. And if old times come again then I would say that yes the world is round, what goes comes back to us one day.”
