Power helpline receives 1,200 calls everyday

Around 1200 calls are received everyday at the toll free helpline started by Haryana Government to register electricity related complaints. A spokesman of Haryana Power Distribution Utilities said the call centre, which is functional since October last year in Haryana receives on an average 1200 calls a day.

The utilities have provided toll free telephone number 18001804334 in the area of the Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam and 18001801550 in the area if the Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam for lodging complaints relating to power supply at the call centre. The spokesperson claimed that though there has been no increase in interruptions in power supply, large number of people are calling in regarding electricity related issues.

The call centre has been set up to ensure timely redressal of the complaints, as per standards laid by the Haryana Electricity Regulatory Commission. The redressal of complaints, lodged through call centre, are closely monitored by the senior officers and management. At the helpline number, one can lodge their complaints relating to service, billing, new connection, system improvement, etc.

The call centre has been given instructions to entertain all type of complaints relating to the DISCOM.
