An employee of the Engine Division of the Sukhoi project of the Hindustan Aeronautics limited (HAl) under the Ministry of Defence was arrested for stealing important parts from a workshop.
He was identified as Arun Kumar Pradhan. He was intercepted while carrying some parts slyly from the Sukhoi workshop near a HAl gate. The security personnel immediately informed the Sunabeda police and handed over Pradhan to the latter.
The police have meanwhile started an investigation after seizing the theft materials from Pradhan. They also have got information about a few others who abetted the theft. Pradhan was sent to the Koraput district jail after being produced in court. The theft items included blades and plates which are used in engines. The police also suspect goof-ups in a workshop at Semiliguda where HAl has outsourced private company Korik Engine limited of Ahmadabad.
