The Railways has announced that two passenger trains running through Raipur and Bilaspur will be cancelled on Saturday and Sunday due to repair work of tracks being undertaken between the two stations.
According to an official statement released by the South East Central Railway zone, Gondia-Jharsuguda passenger will be terminated at Raipur station on Saturday and Sunday and will be sent back to Gondia. The train will remain cancelled between Raipur and Bilaspur. As an alternative arrangement, Amritsar-Bilaspur Chhattisgarh Express will be run as a passenger train between Raipur and Bilaspur. The express train will stop at every station in the zone.
Similarly, Jharsuguda-Gondia passenger originating from Jharsuguda will be terminated at Bilaspur and will be sent back to its origin on Saturday and Sunday. The train will remain cancelled between Bilaspur and Raipur.The action has been taken as a part of the regular repair works for maintaining the tracks.
Meanwhile, a safety seminar was organised by the South East Central Railway zone in which process of opening the relay room, protecting trains from fire, safety measures to be followed during summers like protecting the wheels from getting heated up were discussed. Several officials of the railway division were present during the seminar.
