DC Manish Ranjan, SP Manoj Kaushik, SDO Rajeev Ranjan, DSP and other officers inspected all the booths of civic polls 2013 and closely observed the arrangements and sensitivity concerned with the upcoming municipal elections. The officers visited Pelawal, Okni, Kumhartoli, Khirgaon, Hurhuru and other areas of the town.
They inspected every booth keeping in view the past records of the booth, where there had been some kind of unusual or destructive activities during the last election and ensured high alert in those specific booths. The anti social elements who would try to disrupt the smooth running of election must be identified and caught.
DC and SP informed to all the election workers to collect the EVMs and other important articles from St. Columbas College on 6th April at 9 a.m. In the election booths where the requirement of light and water was felt, they directed to the Executive Officer of election to make these arrangements.
They also directed the Circle Officer to apply Section 144 in and around 200 meters of the election booths. DC Manish Ranjan strictly instructed everyone that the flow of communications must be smooth. He directed the Circle officers that the communication system must be smooth so that the exchange of information is not interrupted during the elections. He also said that for the smooth conduct of this election, there is a strict need of proper coordination among all the Election officers of the town.
He further said that generally a procedural delay takes place in communicating any important instruction regarding elections due to which the aim is not fulfilled. DC also instructed to publish the correct telephone numbers, email id and fax no. of all the Election Officers, Executive Officers, Circle Officers and other officials so that they can be contacted in case of any kind of emergency as such.
The collection of the expenditure reports of various candidates contesting the election was done in the Expenditure Accounting Cell in the second round. Candidates came in huge numbers to register their expenses. During this exercise, the expenditure officer PK Sinha was himself present in the cell.
According to the information, on the first date of filing expenditure report only few candidates turned up. But this time the number was huge. The third round of filing expenditure report is on April 3. The In-Charge of this Expenditure Accounting Cell Navdeshwar Singh said that the workers employed in our cell closely observed the application of the candidates and rectified the mistakes, if found in those forms.
