After a long and colorful career in the police service and affectionately called 'Baba', the DIG of Gwalior range Hari Singh Yadav took permanent leave from his police service. Though he was retiring officially on May 31, 2013 but he opted to leave the service early on account of family circumstances. The government has accepted his request.
Hari Singh Yadav had entered the police service 37 years before he completed his police career blamelessly. He has been awarded served prizes during his 37 years glorious career. Though, he is retired today but he is at present in Bhopal to attend his farewell programme. His farewell programme in Gwalior would be organised on his return to Gwalior. Mr. Yadav was born in Thatipur village, Gwalior.
His education has taken place in Gwalior only and began his government service from there. He entered the police service as DSP and reached the post of DIG through promotion.
The most memorable achievement in his service is elimination of dacoit gang Jag Jeevan and Company in a long encounter. The gang had terrorised not only Gwalior-Chambal region but, also UP and Rajasthan. A reward of Rs 9 lakhs has been announced on his head by the MP, UP, and Rajasthan.
Yadav said, Jag Jeevan Parihar gang was surrounded by his team in Porsa district Morena at 2.30 pm. The encounter continued up to 7 am next day in which all the seven dacoits have been killed.
Another police officer of DSP rank and posted in Datia, Munna lal Dhody is also reported to have expressed his desire to take VRS. His application has been forwarded to the government by the officers with due recommendation.
Munna lal Dhody had entered the police service in 1975 as Sub Inspector. At present he is posted as SDOP in Datia.
According to political sources, Dhody can get the opportunity to fight assembly election to be held in November this year. Dhody is assured of getting ticket for reserve seat Dabra district Gwalior, sources added.
