The admission process for various bachelor degree courses like BSc horticulture, BSc (Microbiology), BSc (Bio-Technology) , BCom, BSc (Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry), BSc (Zoology and Botany) and BA courses in SGRR (PG) College will begin from Monday, said college principal Vinay Anand Bourai.

While admission process in other college colleges like DAV (PG) College, DBS (PG) College and MKP (PG) College will start after third week of June.

Bourai said that those students who obtained 80 per cent or more in their Class XII Board examination can get admission directly in the Science stream in the college from Monday. Those who scored more than 60 per cent can get admission in BA courses. Almost all the subjects of graduation and post-graduation in Science and Art stream, professional courses like BSc Agriculture and Business Management, Post-Graduation Diploma in Journalism and Mass Communication, MSc Micro Biology, MSc Bio-Technology and Master in Social Work are available in the college. In the professional courses, the students are selected through merit lists declared after receiving applications from the students.

Students can download admission form from the college website www.sgrrcollege.com and can submit it in the college. The performance of the students in the annual examination is better than all the Aided Colleges of Dehradun, Bourai added.

DBS (PG) College principal Dr OP Kulshrestha said that the admission process will start after third week of June. The college offers three professional courses like MSc Bio-Technology, MSc Micro Biology and Bachelor of library Science. A total of 25 seats each in MSc Microbiology and MSc Bio-Technology and 50 seats in Bachelor of library Science are available in the college.

The subjects which are available for bachelor degree in Science stream are Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Geology, Geography, Defense and Strategic Studies, Botany and Zoology, while English literature, Mathematics, Geography, defense and strategic studies, Hindi literature, Social Science and Economic are available in Art stream.

At Post-Graduation level, all the above mentioned subjects and Geology (Petroleum Geology, Environment Geology and specialisation in Remote Sensing), Physics (specialisation in Solid state and electronic), Chemistry (specialisation in organic chemistry), Zoology (specialisation in environment biology), Botany (specialisation in biodiversity and conservation), Mathematics, Geography, Economic and English are available in the college.

MKP (PG) College Principal Kiran Sood said that the admission process will start after third week of June. The subjects which are available at graduation level are Sanskrit, Hindi, English, History, Mathematics, Vocal and Instrumental Music and painting in Art stream.

At Post-Graduation level, the subjects are English, Hindi, Economics, Social Science, Political Science, Psychology, Home Science and Painting in Art Stream. Chemistry is the only subject, which is available at Post-Graduation level in Science stream in the college.

The subjects which are available at MPhil are Hindi, English, Economic, Political Science, Psychology and Painting. Unit of Rovers and Rangers in NCC and NSS has been made while sports like basket ball, volley ball, hand ball and table tennis are played in the college. Gym and subject-centric labs have been established in the college apart from Women Study Centre and Career and Guidance Cell which have been established in the college.

“Emphasis has been laid on providing platform for overall development of the students through classroom activities, sports activities and career counselling. Needy students are provided hostel facility within the campus, Sood added.

DAV (PG) College Principal Dr Devendra Bhasin said that all the subjects at bachelor and post-graduation are available in the college. The admission process will start in the month of July. The llB law entrance form will be available from July 1 in the college.
