Yaoshang celebration with locals organised by army at Ningthoukhong in Manipur

Indian Army personnel celebrated Yaoshang with the local community at Ningthoukhong, fostering a spirit of unity, harmony and cultural bonding. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from villagers, youth and women from villages of Kwasiphai, Nachou, Bishnupur, Kha Potshangbam, Upopki, Taubul and Khoijuman.
As part of the celebrations, a 10 km run was organised for both male and female participants, promoting physical fitness, sportsmanship and community participation. The run saw energetic involvement from local youth who participated with great enthusiasm.

In addition, a Tug-of-War competition was organised for the Meira Paibis, encouraging teamwork and friendly competition among the participants. The event created a festive atmosphere, with locals and soldiers celebrating the spirit of Yaoshang together. The event reflected the Indian Army’s continued commitment to strengthening ties with local communities and promoting social harmony through sports and cultural engagement.
Participants appreciated the effort, which provided a platform for interaction, recreation and community bonding.
