Woman labourer dies in Maharashtra after saree gets stuck in cement mixer

A 58-year-old woman construction worker died after her saree got caught in a running cement mixer at a construction site in Maharashtra's Thane district, police said on Tuesday.
The accident occurred on Aug. 1 at Palegaon MIDC in Ambarnath East.
The victim, identified as Revati Padu Gaud, a native of Odisha. She was working at the site when the loose end of her saree became entangled in the machine, pulling her into the equipment and causing fatal injuries.
She was taken to a nearby hospital and later referred to Central Hospital in Ulhasnagar, where she was declared dead.
Police have registered a case under Section 194 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita at Shivajinagar police station. An investigation is underway.
