Woman allegedly killed by husband over objection to his 'affair' in UP

A 30-year-old woman was allegedly strangled to death by her husband and his family members in a village under the Shahpur police station area of Muzaffarnagar district, police said on Monday.
The incident took place on Sunday when Mohsina was allegedly strangled by her husband Rashid, 37, with the alleged involvement of other family members, police said.
According to police, Mohsina had reportedly objected to her husband's alleged "illicit relationship with his brother's wife".
Shahpur SHO Gajendra Singh said a case has been registered against Rashid, his three brothers -- Matloob, Kallu and Aas Mohammad -- and Kallu's wife Sajida under relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
Rashid and Aas Mohammad were arrested on Monday in connection with the case, the SHO said. The remaining accused are absconding and efforts are underway to arrest them.
Police said the woman's body was sent for post-mortem examination. (with inputs from PTI)
