Lucknow to host global experts for International Dialogue on emerging technologies
Entrepreneurs, technology specialists and representatives of major companies from countries including the US, Britain and Germany are expected to attend the International Dialogue 2026 in Lucknow next month, the state government said on Sunday.
The three-day global event will be hosted at the Uttar Pradesh State Institute of Forensic Science (UPSIFS) from October 23 to 25.
According to the government, preparations are underway to bring around 1,200 participants together, including policymakers, senior government officials, industrialists, scientists, researchers, startup representatives, judicial and police officers, teachers and students from India and abroad.
The event will feature discussions on emerging technologies and their applications, covering areas such as artificial intelligence, quantum technology, cyber forensics, data security and legal compliance.
UPSIFS Founder Director Dr G K Goswami said the state government, under the direction of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, is working to equip young people with skills in new technologies, which he said could create employment and other opportunities.
Goswami said the International Dialogue is being organised to bring the policy, industry and education sectors together, with the aim of promoting innovation and employability as part of the vision of Viksit Bharat.
The event will also focus on encouraging educational institutions to conduct research and develop skilled talent while creating opportunities for students and young people through internships, employment and other avenues, the statement said.
The three-day dialogue will examine technologies expected to have a growing role in industries, as well as in security and justice systems, in the coming years.
Among the topics to be discussed are quantum computing, quantum communication, artificial intelligence, robotics, drones and 3-D printing. The programme will also cover post-quantum preparedness and efforts to build national capabilities in the field.
International experts will discuss areas including forensic DNA, cyber forensics, digital evidence and modern investigation techniques.
The organisers will also address the responsible and secure use of emerging technologies, with discussions on data protection, privacy, auditing, governance and legal compliance.
The first day, October 23, will focus on 'Talent and Industry Engagement'. According to the statement, the programme will aim to create direct links between students, young professionals and industry.
The event will explore potential partnerships between educational institutions and industry in areas such as research, curriculum development and training. The objective is to go beyond providing degrees and ensure that young people acquire skills aligned with current and future industry requirements.
October 24 will be the main summit day, with representatives from the Central and state governments, senior policymakers, industry leaders and startups expected to participate.
The day's programme will include a Policy-Industry Roundtable, Technology Showcase, Investment Dialogue and Knowledge Exchange. The aim is to create direct interaction between policymakers and technology developers, the statement said.
Goswami said employment and future skills would be a major focus of the summit.
Plans are also in place to connect students and young professionals with mentors and industry experts, as well as with networks offering internships, placements and entrepreneurship opportunities.
The dialogue will further discuss the development of training programmes and curricula based on industry requirements. UPSIFS aims to create a system in which students not only gain theoretical knowledge of emerging technologies but also understand their practical applications, the statement said.
