UAE embassy celebrates 54th National Day in New Delhi, showcasing deepening strategic ties

The Embassy of the United Arab Emirates in New Delhi celebrated the UAE’s 54th National Day, Eid Al Etihad, with a grand diplomatic reception attended by senior Indian Government officials, foreign diplomats, business leaders, and representatives from leading institutions.
The event highlighted the UAE’s remarkable national progress under the leadership of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, while underscoring the growing strategic partnership between the UAE and India. Piyush Goyal, India’s Minister of Commerce and Industry, attended as the Chief Guest. Guests were welcomed with a vibrant cultural program showcasing the UAE’s heritage through traditional, artistic, and historical performances — reflecting the nation’s rich identity and deep-rooted legacy. This year’s celebration placed special emphasis on the accelerating momentum in UAE-India relations. Bilateral trade has surpassed $100 billion, a milestone largely driven by the transformative UAE-India Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA).
The achievement further cements the UAE’s position as one of India’s most significant, dynamic, and forward-looking economic partners.
Over the past year, cooperation between the two nations has broadened across key sectors, including energy, logistics, food security, technology, and investment. Among the standout developments was the launch of the IIT Delhi Abu Dhabi campus—an education and innovation milestone that reflects the scale of ambition shaping the partnership.
Addressing the gathering, H.E. Abdulnasser Alshaali, PhD, UAE Ambassador to India, emphasized the depth and future potential of the relationship. “This day reflects the UAE’s enduring commitment to progress, openness, and partnership. Our relationship with India continues to grow from strength to strength, guided by mutual trust, shared values, and a common vision for prosperity. Crossing the $100 billion milestone in bilateral trade this year is not merely a statistic; it is a reflection of the depth of our partnership and the opportunities that lie ahead. Together, the UAE and India are shaping a future defined by innovation, resilience, and meaningful cooperation across every sector.”
The UAE-India partnership remains one of the region’s most comprehensive and future-focused, driven by strong leadership-level engagement, robust economic ties, and vibrant people-to-people connections.
With CEPA opening new pathways for collaboration and both nations investing steadily in shared priorities, the bilateral relationship is poised for even greater achievements in the years to come.
