A high-level delegation from the Technical University (TU) of Leoben (Montan Universität Leoben), Austria, visited New Delhi on 7 February 2026 to strengthen Indo-Austrian collaboration in higher education, research, and academic mobility through a strategic partnership with VFS Education Services.
The visit formed part of TU Leoben and TU Austria’s ‘Focus India’ initiative aimed at educating future professionals and strengthening Austria’s industrial competitiveness.
The 30-member delegation, led by Susanne Feiel, Director of International Relations and European University, and Clemens Weihs, Team Lead – Strategic Partnerships, engaged with Indian academic institutions, education stakeholders, and policymakers to explore opportunities for deeper collaboration.
Discussions focused on student and faculty exchanges, joint research initiatives, and structured education pathways between India and Austria.
During the visit, the delegation unveiled the new corporate brochure of VFS Education Services, highlighting the organisation’s expanded offerings and its role in facilitating international education and cross-border academic mobility.
Susanne Feiel said India is a key partner in TU Leoben’s international strategy and emphasised the importance of building meaningful collaborations with Indian institutions. She noted that the support of VFS Education Services enables structured and effective engagement with students and academic partners in India.
