Tiny coffin of Ali Khamenei's 14-month-old granddaughter draws attention at State funeral

A deeply emotional moment marked the state funeral of Iran's late Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei, as a tiny coffin placed beside his drew the attention of mourners and the world alike. The small casket belonged to his 14-month-old granddaughter, Zahra Mohammadi Golpayegani, who was among several members of Khamenei's family killed in the airstrike that claimed his life earlier this year.

The funeral ceremony, held at Tehran's Grand Mosalla, was attended by senior Iranian leaders, military officials, religious figures and foreign dignitaries. Thousands of mourners gathered to pay their final respects, with many taking part in traditional prayers and rituals.

The coffins were draped in Iranian flags, while Khamenei's coffin was later covered with a red "Ya Hussein" flag, a powerful Shiite symbol representing martyrdom and the call for justice.
