Tiger attack near Bandhavgarh Reserve kills woman, sparks anger among villagers

A tragic incident near the Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve in Madhya Pradesh has triggered anger among local residents after a tiger entered a residential area and killed a woman while injuring several others.
The incident reportedly occurred early on Sunday in Panpatha village near the reserve area in Umaria district.
Authorities said the tiger wandered close to homes and attacked people in the locality.
The woman who lost her life was identified as Phool Bai Pal. Reports said at least four other people suffered injuries during the attack.
Following the incident, fear and panic spread across the village as residents demanded immediate action from forest officials to prevent such attacks in the future.
Angry villagers allegedly confronted forest department staff, claiming officials did not respond quickly despite repeated requests for help.
Some reports also stated that rescue operations faced delays due to protests by locals. Security personnel and forest teams later reached the area and began efforts to monitor and control the situation.
Authorities are continuing their investigation and are working to ensure the safety of residents near the reserve.
