Tejas Shirse breaks National Record in Men’s 110m hurdles at Indian Athletics Series 9

Indian hurdler Tejas Shirse delivered a remarkable performance at the Indian Athletics Series 9 in Ludhiana, breaking his own national record in the men's 110m hurdles event on Saturday.
Representing the Reliance Foundation, the 24-year-old clocked an impressive 13.27 seconds to finish the race, improving upon his previous national record of 13.41 seconds set in 2024.
The record-breaking run also helped Shirse surpass the Athletics Federation of India's qualifying standard of 13.39 seconds for the upcoming Commonwealth Games, strengthening his credentials for international competition.
Shirse has been in outstanding form this season. He recently won the gold medal at the Federation Cup in Ranchi, where he recorded a timing of 13.50 seconds.
With his latest effort, Shirse now holds the sixth-fastest time in Asia this season, underlining his growing stature as one of the continent's leading sprint hurdlers.
The achievement marks another significant milestone in Indian athletics and highlights the athlete's steady progress on the international stage.
