Taiwan Universities to showcase educational opportunities for Indian students in New Delhi

A delegation of Taiwanese universities will visit New Delhi this Thursday to present a range of academic and scholarship opportunities available to Indian students in Taiwan. Organised by the Taipei Economic and Cultural Centre (TECC) in India, the event will take place from 4:00 PM to 4:50 PM and will include a special media interaction with university representatives.
This initiative reflects the growing collaboration between Taiwan and India in the field of higher education. Earlier this year, the Taiwan-India Higher Education Leaders Forum brought together representatives from 15 Taiwanese and 42 Indian universities. The forum resulted in the renewal of a key memorandum of understanding aimed at enhancing academic exchange and fostering new partnerships in critical fields such as engineering, technology and research.
The event in New Delhi will feature presentations on available degree programs, fully funded scholarships and short-term student exchange opportunities.
A key focus will be on fields like semiconductor technology, artificial intelligence, biotechnology, healthcare and green energy — areas where Taiwan has global expertise and where India is rapidly expanding its talent base.
Indian students already represent a growing segment of Taiwan’s international student population, with over 2,500 enrolling each year. Through this engagement, TECC aims to further increase awareness about Taiwan as a destination for quality education, supported by Government initiatives such as the New Southbound Policy.
The media event will include a 20-minute presentation by Taiwanese universities, followed by a 10-minute Q&A session and 20 minutes of open interaction with journalists. This format is designed to give media representatives firsthand insight into the academic landscape in Taiwan and the specific opportunities available for Indian students.
The Taipei Economic and Cultural Centre in India serves as Taiwan’s de facto embassy, promoting bilateral relations in areas including trade, tourism, culture and education. Its Education Division plays a central role in facilitating academic cooperation between Indian and Taiwanese institutions.
The event underscores a shared commitment to building stronger educational and research linkages, to equip students with the skills and international exposure needed for the global workforce.
