SSB’s ‘Bharat Darshan’ for J&K youths concludes in Delhi

The ‘Bharat Darshan’ educational tour, organised by the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) for the youth of Jammu and Kashmir, concluded successfully on Thursday. The nine-day programme, held under the Civic Action Plan of the Ministry of Home Affairs, aimed to expose youth from remote border areas to India’s diverse culture, history, and modern development.
The tour group, comprising 30 youngsters from districts including Kupwara, Rajouri, Kulgam, Pulwama, Bandipora, Budgam, Ganderbal, Baramulla, and Srinagar, began their journey on January 28. The initiative was designed to integrate these youths into the national mainstream while deepening the spirit of patriotism and national unity.
The itinerary covered major historical and cultural hubs across Rajasthan and the national Capital. During their stay in Jaipur on January 29 and 30, the participants visited iconic landmarks such as Jantar Mantar, City Palace, Hawa Mahal, and Nahargarh Fort, and also held a formal meeting with the Governor of Rajasthan, Haribhau Kisanrao Bagde.Following this, the group travelled to Udaipur on February 1 and 2, where they explored the ‘City of Lakes’ through visits to the Lake Palace, Sajjangarh Fort, and the Bharatiya Lok Kala Mandal.
The final leg of the journey took place in New Delhi on February 3 and 4, featuring visits to the National Science Centre, National Rail Museum, Red Fort, India Gate, and Kartavya Path, providing a comprehensive glimpse into India’s glorious past and its journey toward becoming a modern power. Marking the conclusion of the programme on February 5, the Director General of SSB, Sanjay Singhal, interacted with the students at the Force Headquarters in New Delhi.
The students shared their travel experiences, describing the tour as highly inspiring and beneficial. Addressing the group, the Director General referred to the youth as the builders of ‘New India’ and urged them to make discipline and hard work their guiding principles. He emphasised that education is the only powerful medium through which they can contribute to laying the foundation of a self-reliant and developed nation.
The event was attended by senior officers, including Inspector Generals MR Naik, Parul Kush Jain, Somit Joshi, and Dr Ashok Rai, and concluded with a formal exchange of mementos between the DG and the touring party.
