RN Ravi reaches Kolkata, to be sworn Bengal Guv

Hours after former West Bengal Governor CV Ananda Bose left for New Delhi, his successor RN Ravi arrived on Wednesday evening.
Ravi, who will be sworn in as the 22nd governor of the state, was accompanied by his wife, officials said.
“The swearing-in ceremony of the new governor will take place tomorrow morning. Chief Justice of Calcutta High Court will administer the oath of office,” a senior official said. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, and other senior officials of the state Government are scheduled to be present at the programme, he said. Ravi was appointed Bengal governor following the resignation of Bose on March 5. He had earlier served as the governor of Nagaland, Meghalaya, and Tamil Nadu.
Born in Patna in 1952, Ravi joined the Indian Police Service in 1976 after a brief stint as a journalist.
He served in the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and the Intelligence Bureau (IB), and was appointed chairman of the Joint Intelligence Committee in 2014.
In 2018, he became Deputy National Security Advisor. After retiring from his bureaucratic career, Ravi was appointed Nagaland governor in August 2019 and served until September 2021.
