Rahul’s ‘PM will dance’ jibe fires up poll trail

At his first election rally in Bihar, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday alleged Prime Minister Narendra Modi can do anything for votes and he can even dance. However, Rahul immediately earned the wrath of the BJP and the ruling party stated that the Gandhi scion has insulted the PM, Biharis and Chhath Mahaparv
Joined by the INDIA bloc’s Chief Ministerial face Tejashwi Yadav in the rallies at Muzafarpur and Darbhanga, the Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha accused the Nitish Kumar Government of being operated by BJP’s remote control. Both RJD and Congress leaders wore T-shirts, making the crowds chant slogans in favour of Yuva Ki Sarkaar.
Accusing PM Modi and the Delhi Government of orchestrating drama on TV and social media in the just concluded Chhath Puja, he said PM aborted the idea of taking a dip in the Yamuna Vasudev Ghat in Delhi after it was exposed that a separate pond was created through piped water.
“PM Narendra Modi is ready to enact all types of drama. You try telling him at a poll rally, ‘Mr Prime Minister, we will vote for you if you dance.’ He will readily perform Bharatnatyam,” Rahul said. He further asserted that the time has come for former Deputy CM Tejashwi Yadav to form a new Government in the State.
Denouncing Rahul for terming Modi’s reverence for Chhath Puja a drama, BJP national spokesperson and Rajya Sabha MP Sudhanshu Trivedi said the people of Bihar will ensure a massive defeat of the Mahagathbandhan in the upcoming Assembly polls for insulting Chhath.
Yadav, on his part, claimed that PM Modi is interested in opening factories in Gujarat but looks for victory in the Assembly elections in Bihar.
