Put petty politics aside; it's not about one party, but India: Rahul on TMC's loss in polls

Leader of Opposition, Rahul Gandhi criticised the BJP over its victory in the West Bengal and Assam Assembly elections, alleging that the mandate had been “stolen” and warning that it posed a threat to Indian democracy.
The senior Indian National Congress leader also extended support to the All India Trinamool Congress after its defeat, urging political parties and leaders not to indulge in petty politics.
In a post on X, Gandhi said that celebrating the loss of TMC was misplaced and stressed that the issue went beyond party lines. He described the poll outcome as a significant step in what he termed the BJP’s attempt to undermine democratic institutions.
“Put petty politics aside. This is not about one party or another. This is about India,” he said.
The BJP has unseated TMC in West Bengal and retained power in Assam for a third consecutive term, marking a major political shift in the region following the Assembly election results announced on Monday.
