PVVNL steps up power preparedness for Kanwar yatra
In accordance with the vision of the State Government, Paschimanchal Vidyut Vitran Nigam Ltd is working with commitment and dedication to make the Kanwar Yatra successful and safe. Managing Director Ravish Gupta (IAS) is continuously visiting various districts of the Discom, conducting field inspections of the Kanwar routes, and carrying out a detailed review of the electricity arrangements related to the Yatra. Necessary directions are being issued to the officers to ensure uninterrupted and safe power supply for the devotees.
Today, the Managing Director visited Bulandshahr district, where he carried out a field inspection of the Kanwar routes under the 33/11 kV DTM Road and Neemkheda substations. He reviewed the quality and progress of electrical works such as installation of polythene on electric poles, fencing of transformers, guarding beneath power lines, etc., and issued necessary instructions. He directed that overhead power lines on the Kanwar routes be maintained at the prescribed height as per standards, deteriorated power lines be repaired, and transformers mounted on plinths be properly barricaded.
The Managing Director also conducted a field inspection of the Kanwar route in Bulandshahr district and inspected the route leading to the famous Shri Rajrajeshwar Maharaj Ji Temple, reviewing the electricity arrangements. During the inspection, while observing the condition of electric poles, power lines, transformers, and other electrical equipment, he instructed the concerned officers to complete all required maintenance and corrective works within the stipulated timeframe.
The Managing Director held a meeting with Assistant Engineer-level officers of the urban area and conducted a detailed review of commercial, technical, and Kanwar Yatra-related works. During the meeting, discussions were held in detail regarding revenue collection, reduction in line losses, quality of consumer services, and ensuring uninterrupted power supply during the Kanwar Yatra.
The Managing Director instructed the officers that no kind of power disruption should occur during the Kanwar Yatra. Special vigilance should be maintained at sensitive locations. Regular inspection of power lines along the Kanwar routes should be carried out, and adequate resources and technical teams should remain available 24×7 to deal with emergency situations. He said that the safety of the devotees is the highest priority, and all officers and employees should work with full coordination and responsibility to ensure uninterrupted, safe, and quality power supply.
The Managing Director directed that all electricity poles falling on the routes through which the Kanwar Yatra will pass or where programmes will be organised should be thoroughly inspected. The meeting was attended by Sanjeev Kumar, Chief Engineer (Distribution), Bulandshahr Zone, Bulandshahr; Harshit Srivastava, Superintending Engineer; Mahesh Kumar Ahirwar, Superintending Engineer; Shishir Kumar Chahi, Superintending Engineer; Sonam Singh, Staff Officer; along with Executive Engineers and Sub-Divisional Officers.
