Property dealer found dead in south Delhi

The body of a 49-year-old property dealer was found hanging inside his residence in the E-2 block of Vasant Kunj on Monday evening. The man, who was living alone and separately from his family, was found in a partially decomposed state, indicating that the death may have occurred sometime before it was discovered.
According to the police, a call was received at the Vasant Kunj South police station at around 6.19 pm reporting a suspected suicide at a house in Vasant Kunj. Acting on the information, the enquiry officer, along with the beat staff, rushed to the spot and found the house locked from the inside.
The PCR personnel and a Delhi Fire Services team official opened the door forcibly. Inside, the police found the body of a man hanging from a ceiling fan with the help of a plastic rope.
Officials said the body was emitting a foul smell and appeared to be partially decomposed, suggesting that the man had died at least a few days earlier. The crime team was called to inspect the spot, and after a preliminary examination.
