CJP-villagers face off over Jaipur school visit as both sides file FIRs

The dispute over an alleged attack on members of the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) during a visit to a government school in Jaipur has taken a legal turn, with the CJP and local villagers filing separate FIRs against each other.
The confrontation took place on Friday when a CJP team visited Rampura Kanwarpura village to inspect a government school as part of its 'School Thik Karo' campaign.
CJP members alleged that they were stopped and assaulted by villagers, whom the outfit accused of being linked to the BJP. Villagers, however, alleged that the CJP team arrived in large numbers and created fear among residents.
Shivdaspura SHO Rajesh Gautam said a villager lodged a complaint on Friday night, alleging that CJP members intimidated people in the area and that children were scared and stopped attending school.
The second FIR was registered after a CJP member complained that members of the team were assaulted during the confrontation. The outfit has demanded the arrest of those responsible.
CJP co-convenor Ashutosh Ranka alleged that BJP leaders had sent people to attack the team and said the outfit had videos and other evidence of the incident.
"If they also have evidence, let them show it," Ranka said.
Videos purportedly showing the incident show a heated confrontation between the CJP team and a group of people, with members being pushed and shoved as they tried to enter the village. Some videos also show damaged car windows, which are believed to belong to the visiting team.
The school had been operating from a cattle enclosure after its original building was declared unsafe. On Saturday morning, authorities shifted the students to a new premises.
Villagers said funds had already been sanctioned for repairing the school and that the work could be carried out locally.
The police are investigating both complaints and the circumstances surrounding the confrontation.
