Pakistan gang rape victim alleges Deputy PM Ishaq Dar's relative demanded $100,000 for release

A shocking gang rape case in Pakistan has taken a new turn after one of the foreign victims alleged that a relative of Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar demanded $100,000 for their release.
The victim claimed she and another foreign national were abducted, sexually assaulted and held captive in Lahore, where the accused allegedly extorted money before they were freed.
Pakistani police have arrested four suspects, including Muhammad Raza Dar, who has been identified by multiple media reports as a relative of Ishaq Dar. Investigators are also searching for another accused believed to be involved in the case.
Authorities are examining allegations that the crime may have links to a cryptocurrency-related dispute, although the investigation is still ongoing. The victims have reportedly left Pakistan after recording their statements with investigators.
The case has sparked widespread political controversy, with opposition leaders demanding accountability and calling for a transparent investigation because of the alleged involvement of a senior politician's family member. Pakistani authorities have said the investigation will continue and that all those found responsible will face legal action.
