Nikhat, Priya and Preeti reach Asian Boxing Championships semifinals

Nikhat Zareen, Priya and Preeti Pawar qualified for the semifinals of the Asian Boxing Championships, assuring.
India of at least three medals on Friday. Nikhat was in complete control in the women’s 51kg quarterfinal, sealing a first-round RSC (referee stops contest) victory over Xian Baguhin from the Philippines in a dominant outing.
Nikhat will face a stern challenge in the semifinals against China’s Wu Yu, who won the 2024 Olympics gold medal.
In the women’s 60kg category, Priya showcased composure and maturity to defeat China’s Chengyu Yang 4-1. Priya will take on Mongolia’s Namuun Monkhor for a place in the final.
Meanwhile, in the women’s 54kg category, Preeti, the gold medallist at the World Boxing Cup Finals, produced one of the most clinical performances of the fifth day.
Preeti defeated Mongolia’s Mungun Tsetseg with a 5-0 unanimous decision victory, setting up a semifinal contest against Im Aeji.
Meanwhile, in the men’s 70kg category, Deepak exited the competition following a 1-4 loss to Jordan’s Zeyad Eashash in the quarterfinals.
