NGT Chairperson Justice Prakash Srivastava leads plantation drive

On the occasion of World Environment Day, Justice Prakash Srivastava, Chairperson of the National Green Tribunal (NGT), led a plantation drive at the NGT premises on June 5. Senior dignitaries and members of the Tribunal also took part in the plantation drive, reaffirming NGT’s commitment to a cleaner and greener India.
The plantation drive was organised as part of NGT’s continued commitment to environmental protection, ecological restoration, and sustainable development. The aim was to increase green cover within the tribunal premises and spread awareness about the importance of protecting the environment.
On this occasion, the chairperson planted saplings and spoke about the importance of planting trees to deal with major environmental problems such as climate change, air pollution, and loss of biodiversity. He said that every tree planted today is an investment in a cleaner and healthier future.
The chairperson also stressed that both individuals and institutions must work together to protect natural resources. He urged everyone to take part in environmental protection activities and follow eco-friendly habits in daily life.
