Gurugram Police arrests Nigerian with over 200 gm cocaine

A Nigerian national has been arrested with 204.04 grams of cocaine near village Wazirabad here on Sunday, police said.
Daniel Obiefuna, a resident of Nigeria, presently residing near Jheel Chowk in Sector-52, Gurugram, was apprehended by the team from Sector 53 police station with the narcotic substance near Wazirabad village, they said.
A case was registered against him at Sector-53 police station under relevant sections of the NDPS Act following the recovery of 204.04 grams of cocaine from his possession, the police said.
"During preliminary interrogation, it was revealed that the accused had come to India in 2024 on a medical visa. The illegal narcotic substance recovered from his possession had been provided to him by one of his associates for sale in Gurugram. The recovered cocaine is worth approximately Rs 5 lakh," a spokesperson of Gurugram police said.
The accused's visa and other relevant facts are being verified. Further proceedings in the case will be carried out as per rules, the spokesperson added.
