Neeraj Ghei honoured with ICAI Lifetime Achievement Award
The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has conferred the prestigious CA Women Lifetime Achievement Award 2025 upon CA Neeraj Ghei. The accolade was presented during the World Forum of Accountants 2026 held at Greater Noida. This award recognises Ghei’s extraordinary four-decade career as a business leader, industry pioneer, and philanthropist. Instituted in 2023, the CA Women Excellence Awards celebrate female leaders who have made a lasting impact on the profession and society.
Accepting the honour, Ghei emphasised the importance of professional ethics. “Skills can be acquired, but integrity, if compromised, is difficult to reclaim,” she remarked. “Our profession commands respect because society trusts us; please guard that trust fiercely.” Ghei’s career is marked by several landmark achievements starting in 1985 at Mohinder Puri & Co and progressing to 1997 when she became the first female and youngest-ever President of the Travel Agents Association of India.
As a pioneer of the retail revolution, she was pivotal as a Promoter Director in launching Delhi’s Select CITYWALK and later steered its 2023 merger with the Nexus Select Trust REIT to create the first publicly listed retail real estate platform in India. Furthermore, her work in Government advisory included serving on the Board of Trade under the Ministry of Commerce where she was instrumental in securing Export Industry status for the travel sector. Beyond her corporate success, Ghei is a dedicated philanthropist.
She serves as a Trustee for the Ghei Foundation and the Rotarian Naqshband Institute for Physically Challenged. Her social initiatives include providing medical equipment to hospitals and sponsoring the Golfing Girl Child Programme, which empowers underprivileged young women through sports and education. Previous recognitions for Ghei include the Outstanding Business woman Award from the PHD Chamber of Commerce & Industry and the Indira Gandhi Priyadarshini Award.
