NCPCR issues notice to Jharkhand DGP over missing siblings in Ranchi

Union Minister for Women and Child Development, Annapurna Devi, on Tuesday called a meeting with the Member Secretary, NCPCR, Dr Sanjeev Sharma, wherein the matter relating to the two missing children from Mausibari, Ranchi, was discussed.
Earlier, the WCD Minister visited the residence of the missing children, where she met the parents of the missing children and assured them of all possible assistance.
She also spoke to the Director General of Police (DGP), Jharkhand, Tadasha Mishra, over the phone and directed her to take prompt action for the immediate recovery of the missing children. Following these developments, the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) has taken a suo-motu cognizance of the case of missing siblings from Ranchi, and has issued a notice to the DGP Jharkhand for the prompt recovery of the children and submission of an Action Taken Report (ATR) within 5 days of receipt of the letter.
Sharma also spoke to the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Ranchi, Rakesh Ranjan, to inquire about the status of the case. He asked the SSP to expedite the investigation for early recovery of the children, according to a Press note by the NCPCR.
