Messi, Mbappe and Haaland shine as World Cup Golden Boot race heats up

Football’s biggest stars lit up the FIFA World Cup on Monday as Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland all delivered match-winning performances, intensifying the race for the tournament’s Golden Boot.
Messi scored twice in Argentina’s victory over Austria, becoming the all-time leading goalscorer in World Cup history with 18 goals. The Argentine legend’s latest milestone further cemented his status as one of the greatest players in the sport.
