At least 18 people were killed and many others injured after a massive fire broke out at a multi-storey restaurant in Delhi’s Malviya Nagar area on Wednesday morning, officials said.
The blaze erupted at the Lemon Green Restaurant in the Hauz Rani locality of South Delhi, prompting an urgent emergency response as thick smoke and flames engulfed the building. Rescue operations were immediately launched to evacuate those trapped inside.
According to the Delhi Fire Service (DFS), the incident was reported around 9:45 am, following which multiple firefighting units, including water tenders, water bowsers, and a quick response vehicle, were rushed to the spot. Officials said the fire initially started around 8:50 am.
