18 terrorists among 21 killed in Pakistan's Balochistan province

Eighteen terrorists were among 21 people killed during a security operation in Pakistan's Balochistan province on Wednesday, August 12, the army said.

The operation was launched after security forces came across a group of terrorists loading explosives onto a truck in the Sohrab area, which subsequently exploded, killing eight terrorists and three civilians on the spot, the military's media wing said.

As security forces launched an operation to hunt down the fleeing terrorists, 10 more militants were killed in an exchange of fire, while two soldiers were injured, it said.

According to the state-run Radio Pakistan, 20 terrorists were killed over a period of two days on Sunday, August 9, and Monday, August 10, in the province.

The security operations in Balochistan began following a deadly attack on a police check post at the Mangi Dam pumping station in Ziarat on July 6, in which armed attackers kidnapped and killed 27 policemen.
