Madhav Nair appointed IBA Honorary Secretary

In a significant development for the Indian banking sector, Madhav Nair, the CEO of the Bank of Bahrain & Kuwait (India), has been elected as the Honorary Secretary of the Indian Banks’ Association (IBA) for the year 2026. Beyond his primary role as Honorary Secretary, the IBA has entrusted Nair with several key administrative and advisory portfolios to steer the industry through contemporary challenges. Most notably, he has been nominated as the Chairman of the Standing Committee for Environment, Social & Governance (ESG). Furthermore, his expertise will be utilised in the regulatory sphere as he takes on the role of Alternate Chairman of the Standing Committee for Legal Compliance & Operations.
