LG inaugurates DDA’s Palaash Mahotsav 2026

Delhi Lt Governor Vinai Kumar Saxena on Saturday inaugurated DDA’s Palaash Mahotsav 2026 at Baansera, Birsa Munda Chowk, drawing residents of the national Capital closer to nature in a vibrant and engaging environment. Vice Chairman DDA, NSaravana Kumar and other senior officers of DDA were also present on the occasion.
For the first time, the festival is being held simultaneously at four locations — Baansera at Birsa Munda Chowk, Ashoka Garden at AshokaVihar, LalaHardayal Park at Jasola and Smriti Van at Narela, from February 14 to 16, 2026.
At the Ashoka Garden, Ashok Vihar Phase IV venue, the festival was formally inaugurated in the presence of Poonam Bhardwaj Sharma, MLA Wazirpur. To encourage public participation, the MLA purchased the first ticket, sending a strong message to the citizens to buy tickets and enjoy the grand flower festival. Under the visionary initiative of Delhi LG, tulips have now been made an integral part of the Palaash Festival, marking a significant expansion of Delhi’s floral landscape beyond the confines of Lutyens’ Delhi.
Earlier largely associated with select avenues of the Lutyens’ zone, tulips are now blossoming as a vibrant public attraction within the festival, symbolising inclusivity in urban beautification. In addition to enhancing the aesthetic appeal of the city, the tulips are also being made available for sale, allowing citizens to take home a part of the festival’s colour and charm.

“PalaashMahotsav is a celebration of nature, community and our shared responsibility towards the environment. I commend DDA for its sustained efforts in creating and maintaining green public spaces that enhance the quality of life in the city. Such initiatives strengthen environmental awareness and foster a deeper connection between people and nature,” Saxena said on the occasion.
Each venue features thematic floral displays, curated gardens, landscape installations and public activity zones. Visitors can also enjoy artisan stalls, food courts, cultural performances, workshops and participatory activities, making the festival engaging for families and visitors of all age groups.
Palaash is an annual flower festival organised by DDA since 2023 and is envisioned not merely as a flower show but as a platform for community interaction in public spaces, reinforcing the importance of ecologically sensitive and people-centric urban environments in line with DDA’s broader mandate.
