Jitendra Singh to address National Workshop on Pension Litigation in Delhi

Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh will address the plenary session of the 2nd National Workshop on Pension Litigation in New Delhi on Saturday. Organised by the Department of Pension and Pensioners' Welfare (DoPPW), the workshop will be held at the Dr. Ambedkar International Centre and bring together nodal officers, panel counsels from various ministries, and legal experts to discuss ways to improve the handling of pension-related disputes.
The workshop aims to identify the common reasons behind pension litigation, including delays in processing pension benefits, differences in interpreting pension rules, issues related to family pensions, and disparities in pension payments among similarly placed retirees.
Participants will explore measures to resolve such issues efficiently and reduce the number of court cases through better coordination between ministries and legal authorities.
The event will feature technical sessions followed by a plenary discussion. Senior officials, including the Attorney General of India, the Secretary (Pension), the Secretary (Law), and other legal experts, are also scheduled to speak. The workshop builds on the first edition held in 2025 and reflects the government's continued efforts to strengthen pension administration and ensure quicker resolution of pension-related grievances.
