Jharkhand CID arrests two more accused in JSSC-CGL exam irregularities case

The Jharkhand CID has arrested two additional accused in connection with alleged irregularities in the JSSC-CGL examination, according to an official statement.

The newly arrested individuals have been identified as Somansh Prakash and Rahul Kumar, the statement said.

"In connection with alleged irregularities in the Jharkhand Graduate-Level Combined Competitive Examination-2023 conducted by the Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission (JSSC) on September 21 and 22, 2024, two individuals associated with the conduct of the JSSC-CGL examination have been arrested," the CID stated on Thursday.

Prakash, who hails from Bihar's Rohtas, and Kumar, a native of Bihar's Vaishali, were residing in Burari, Delhi, at the time of their arrest, the statement added. 

Earlier, the CID had arrested key accused Abhay Tiwari, along with his wife Sushama Kumari and brother Akshay Tiwari, in connection with the same case of alleged irregularities in the JSSC-CGL examination.

Abhay, who was then posted as a block supply officer in Poriyahat, Godda district, was arrested by the CID 

on July 22, while his wife and brother were taken into custody on August 18.

A Special Investigation Team (SIT) formed by the Jharkhand CID is currently investigating the alleged irregularities in the JSSC-CGL examination held in 2024.   (with inputs from PTI)
