Couple arrested in Delhi for supplying Indian SIM cards to Pakistani espionage network

A couple has been apprehended by the Delhi Police for their alleged involvement in a Pakistan-linked spy ring, according to official sources speaking on Friday. 

The suspects, identified as Mohammad Sahil and his wife Sameera, reportedly established contact with Pakistani intelligence handlers via social media platforms starting in 2024. Investigators revealed that between 2024 and 2025, the couple allegedly smuggled eight active Indian SIM cards to Pakistan by routing them through Dubai. In return for the SIM cards, the duo received approximately Rs 30,000. 

The phone numbers were allegedly used to operate messaging accounts and gain access to Indian groups to gather sensitive information, the source added.   (with inputs from PTI)
