Jhalmuri vendor who served PM Modi says he is receiving death threats from Pakistan and Bangladesh

A jhalmuri vendor from West Bengal’s Jhargram district, who recently gained national attention after serving Prime Minister Narendra Modi during an election campaign visit, has claimed that he is receiving death threats from unknown international numbers.
The vendor, identified as Vikram Sao, said he fears for his safety and the safety of his family following repeated threatening calls and messages.
According to reports, Vikram alleged that the calls and WhatsApp messages have been coming from numbers linked to Pakistan and Bangladesh over the past few days. He claimed that some callers used threatening language and issued serious warnings, including alleged bomb threats directed at him and his family members.
Vikram became widely known after Prime Minister Narendra Modi stopped at his roadside stall during the West Bengal election campaign and interacted with him while enjoying the popular Bengali snack.
The moment later went viral on social media and brought him significant public attention. His shop reportedly saw a rise in visitors after the interaction gained popularity online.
Following the reported threats, local authorities have reportedly taken the matter seriously and provided security support while investigations continue.
The incident has raised concerns about the impact of sudden public visibility and online attention on ordinary citizens.
