Jamnagar clears encroachments ahead of PM’s likely visit

With the possibilities of Prime Minister Narendra Modi visiting Gujarat on May 10 and 11, the Jamnagar Municipal Corporation (JMC) has swung into action to ensure smooth arrangements in the city.
Amid indications that the Prime Minister may halt overnight at the Lal Bangla Circuit House, civic authorities have initiated urgent measures to streamline key routes. The estate department of the municipal corporation has deployed two dedicated teams to carry out encroachment removal drives.
The operation focuses on clearing routes from Jamnagar Airport to Lal Bangla Circuit House, as well as from the Air Force Station to the same destination. Street vendors, handcart operators, and others occupying road spaces have been verbally instructed to remove their setups immediately.
In addition, officials have directed the removal of hoardings and unauthorised signboards along these routes to ensure unobstructed movement. Civic authorities stated that a special cleanliness drive will also be undertaken over the next five days along both routes. Continuous monitoring will be carried out to keep the roads encroachment-free and well-maintained.
